Your baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet his increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because his bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.She looks mostly like me, but there's some of her daddy too. She has his mouth and something about her forehead and maybe the placement of her eyes...not sure, but we'll see come August. Naturally, we think she's the most beautiful baby EVER. Just like last time, she was constantly moving (like her daddy) and we could see her sucking her fingers, thumb, fists, and even her toes. She opened her eyes a couple times and yawned alot (like her mama)
I haven't taken a picture of my belly since April. We just keep forgetting. I've only gained 3 pounds since the last visit, so I'm pretty much all baby.
Carpal tunnel issues have been driving me nuts, especially at night. It keeps me awake some nights and I have no problem other nights. What a strange symptom of pregnancy. I've read about it and understand the how, I just don't get the why. With all the other unpleasantness, can't our hands, arms and fingers be left alone? Sheesh. I'm also sleepy most of the time, but not as bad as the first trimester. My feet are swollen more often than not, and I drop things all the time. I can feel my joints loosening and it's weird. Kinda like I've been riding a horse all day. Good ol' third trimester fun!
